Two Years?!

Just today I received my anniversary notice from WordPress celebrating my second year as a member of their site. Automated or not, I was flattered. But the flattery was short lived realizing I’ve only published a blog introductory. Two Years?! 104 possible weekly updates or twenty four monthly essays, and all I’ve mustered was an introduction that took around five minutes to write. Mind you that I’ve had nine drafts pending that never went past the second paragraph.

This post is to cement my newfound change to take a serious role in my interest in blogging. I want this to be a definitive mark where you’ll witness me churning the midnight butter, sharing things that not only intrigue others, but help me become a more critical storyteller and verse writer. But that’s what the first journal entry was suppose to set. Hopeless, I am!

I’ve witness the benefits of blogging from well-seasoned and newly aspired writers, and it would be foolish to not attempt a similar method. My former attempts may have only been thwarted by common procrastination tactics like Facebook and perfectionism, so all may not be lost. Maybe I need to be in denial of my shortcomings and just freaking write something.

Whatever the hindrance may be, I still have hope that this platform is the best way I can start my writing career. In the off chance blogging isn’t for me, I would at least want to stick with it long enough to know for certain. So even though I’ve done this before and failed, I’ll give it another try. What is there to lose outside of five more minutes of my life?
